Two Harbors, Minnesota DM&IR Depot

Two Harbors, Minnesota train station built by Duluth & Iron Range Railroad in 1907 (later merged into Duluth Missabe & Iron Range.) It served as a passenger and freight depot and also housed the corporate offices for the D&IR. When it was still in operation, the depot played a significant role in the region's development and the Minnesota iron ore industry.


When passenger service ended in 1961, the depot was donated to Lake County and now houses the Lake County Historical Society Depot Museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, NRHP Reference # 83000910.
