I am an old, burned out lady who is just trying to be retired. Social Security is my only income. Not planned, but shit can happen in life, and it did.
I am an amateur photographer, and have been dabbling with it for years. I have no formal training other than a few pointers and lessons from my dad who was a J-School grad and was big into photography. I just see what I can see and try to record it on camera.
My photos are mainly from around Minnesota because I am a hard core Minnesota girl (yah shure, you betcha), but there are a few from other places. My favorite places to be and photograph are Minnehaha Falls, the North Shore of Lake Superior and the Superior National Forest.
Other than photography, I enjoy bowling, golf, camping, fishing, boating, road trips, genealogy, history and too many other things to mention. I love animals and I have cats and a wiener dog. Patch, the cat in the picture with me, was my soulmate before I had to help him over the Rainbow Bridge in 2020.
My political views are complex and have changed a great deal over the years, but some highlights are that I believe in peace on earth, I believe that athletes, TV and movie stars, and corporate execs make WAY more money than they are worth.
I am ashamed of our re-elected president; I believe that the minute he mocked the disabled reporter a few years ago should have been a deal-breaker for everyone. His ignorance and demeanor are an embarrassment and a danger to this country, and the personal insecurities that drive his lust for power are as scary as can be.
Looking back in history, there are too many similarities between Trump and men like Hitler to not be concerned. Hopefully enough people with eyes wide open will keep him in check enough to maintain our democracy. I, for one, will have mine open.
