Shakopee, Minnesota Union Depot

The Shakopee, Minnesota Union Depot was built in 1909. It was jointly owned by two railroads, the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha, (Omaha Road) and the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific (Milwaukee Road.) The CStPM&O (now part of Union Pacific) was on the south side and the Milwaukee Road (which was was originally the Hastings & Dakota line, abandoned through Shakopee in 1980) was on the north side of the station.

The Union Pacific tracks here are still heavily used for freight operations, but passenger service is long gone. The Milwaukee Road tracks on the north side are also long gone.

The building is now occupied by the Eagle Creek Quilt Shop.
